Today's The Day!!

Hello!!
I'm really excited because today is the day that
opens and I'm lucky enough to be part of the team

This is NOT a challenge blog ... but a place to share photos
I just LOVE seeing photos on your blogs ... seeing the world through your eyes...
Each one of our team comes from a different part of the world .. we live different lives in different climates
Our creator, my sweet friend Kirsty realised that it would be such fun to share not only our lives but our thoughts in a way ...

Every week there will be a word prompt chosen by one of the team and we all submit a photograph of what that word means to us and we are asking that you join us too!
Please hop over to the Blog for all the details and to see what our team have come up with ...

I would like to point out that I am no expert when it comes to photography and I don't own a fancy camera either ... just an Olympus digital so please don't think that you have to be any sort of expert to join in with us ok?

Our first weeks' prompt was chosen by Wendy ... Her prompt is
"Waking Up"

... And my photo ...

Ha! you know I'm British ... I have to have my cup of tea in the morning!
I love solitude in the morning and time to wake up ... my DH is the opposite ... full of questions and chat ... until I've had my quiet time and tea you approach me at your own risk Lol!

I'm so looking forward to seeing photos from the rest of the team and we would love to see what "waking up" means to you
So grab your camera and have a beautiful day!

Something New

Hi there!

I have club night tonight and yesterday I spent virtually the whole day working on a project for them
They will each make a card and decorate a votive

... and make a little basket to carry the votive

I prepare for just over 20 people so that's a lot of cutting and because of their limited abilities everything has to be easy for them to put together
But the reason I am popping in is to tell you some exciting news ...

There's a new blog on the block!

If you like photography ... even just looking at photos ... this will interest you ... Take a look HERE

Till soon

Papercraft Star # 151

Hi there!
I'm feeling much brighter today ... The sun is shining and I'm in a positive mood
Maybe it's this weeks' inspiration photo for the Papercraft Star challenge that brightens me

Just look at those delicious colours ... now if that doesn't say 'summer' I don't know what does
Of course you could go with the theme rather than the colours ... it's all up to you ...
This is my interpretation

I made this for my neighbour who celebrated her birthday last week
After Anitra's tutorial Here ... I just had to try one of those pretty ric rac flowers ...

I think I'm going to need some practice ... whilst my hands are small my fingers are not delicate and I struggled a little Lol!

I printed one of the Ombre digital papers from Pink Petticoat straight onto my cardstock to start ... the papers are all MME and the pink dot corner piece is a transparency ...

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with this week ... please come and join us at Papercraft Star and if you need more inspiration ... just hop over to the blog to check out the rest of the cards from our designers ...

Thanks so much for visiting me today ...

Till soon

Quilt Card for You

Good morning!
I hope your week started well ... Can't say mine did ...

My husband's elderly cousin broke her hip in April and though that has been replaced and she is mobile again -  she is still in hospital and has been shunted from one hospital to another whilst someone decides her future... I can't begin to tell you how many wards she has been in and each one tell us something different... Every ward has a different social worker and no one links up! It's a severe case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing and my monday morning began with another phone call from the 'latest social' worker who once again did not have the full history ... We really don't know where to turn at the moment ...  It's so frustrating ... enough of my problems ...

Today is City Crafter Challenge day and this week the lovely Char hosting for us with the theme
"Cottage Quilt"

Make a card or project with a Quilt Pattern using the colours in the Photo

We have the very talented Rudlis Guest designing with us following her win in week 161 ... Please pop over and visit her blog ... Her creations are amazing!

I cut squares from various papers to make my 'quilt' - I always make my projects in advance and originally we were going to do an American theme hence the stars and stripes

I made this card especially for all my beautiful blog friends in the USA who will shortly be celebrating Independence Day

Life is definitely so much better with you in it!

I do hope you'll come and join us this week ... Don't forget to stop by the City Crafter Blog to check out the projects from the rest of our designers

Have yourselves a beautiful day and keep safe

Busy Bees

Hello ...

I promised a few photos and as I have nothing creative to share today ... here are a few garden photos for you

Bees on the climbing Hydrangea

... In the Fox and cubs

I don't remember the name of this flower ... but I do remember that it once bloomed pink! I think there must be something in the soil that changes the colour of things ... it happens a lot in this garden

can you can see a bee in side the wild rose?
... take a closer look

... and a few more flowers

I had to include this little weed ... it just looked so sweet hiding in the shrubs

I hope your day is just as beautiful

JUGS Colour Challenge

Hey there ...
Almost the end of the week and weather wise we've had quite a good one though it's overcast and cloudy right now

My lovely blog friend Keren and I got together for coffee yesterday and I took her to our new coffee shop which is part of a farm nearby ... It also has a shop selling the local produce and some sweet vintage goods as well. It was so lovely to catch up though we never have enough hours to talk!

This weeks challenge at Just Us Girls is a colour challenge and I just love the palette

... and I'm lovig the ombre digital papers by Pink Petticoat which I used for my card - I printed the cool aqua straight onto white cardstock

The chevron paper is by My Minds Eye and the words die cut paper is a digital by Sara Schmutz from Design House Digital

Flowers, lace, tulle and burlap etc., are all from my supplies and I added a strip of Washi Tape to the top of the card ...
I think these colours are so very soothing don't you?

Hop over to their blog ... the DT have made some lovely cards

On another note I've been watching the bees in my garden ... they are so busy right now ... I'll share some photos with you soon ...

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by

Papercraft Star and A New Member

Hi there!
I hope you're having a good start to your week ...

Today sees a new photo inspiration challenge at Papercraft Star
Here's the photo

So many interesting things in here ... I always love to see the different interpretations ... Will you choose the colours? maybe the dress form... the boots or the style
Here's my interpretation

The shabby brick background caught my eye and the chicken wire on the dress form ...
I stamped some chicken wire but I improvised with tulle on my dress form which I painted first to capture the green dress in the photo ... you maybe able to just pick out some crackle on there too

I picked out some colours by using this piece of Basic Grey paper and added some long forgotten rose rubons to the corners of my distressed paper then of course a little rose to the 'dress'

The tiny necklace on the dress form is also a rubon
(you can tell from the photos that we had a fair bit of sunshine when I took them)
And I got to use one of the stamps I won at Flourishes ...
"Glamour never goes out of style"

I can't wait to see what you come up with ... Don't forget to visit the Blog to check out the rest of the creations from the DT ... Speaking of which ...
We have a new member on our team ... The lovely and talented Sue Lelli  (Card Therapy blog) Please pop over and leave her some love ...

Have a beautiful day and keep safe

City Crafter Clean & Neutral

Good morning!

I'm hosting the challenge at City Crafter this week and I've chosen simply
"Clean and Neutral"
Create a CAS card in neutral colours and here's your inspiration photo

I love the subtle colours in this photo ... and I love not having to pay the Royal Mail a fortune every time I send a card ... hence I am trying to do more CAS cards lately

I used the lovely Going to Seed stamp by Woodware and stamped it in London Fog ink by Memento

... added lots of liquid pearls in two colours ...

I over stamped with a PTI stamp from the Hand of Time set ... then added some ribbon twine and mother of pearl buttons which reflect the colour in those terracotta pots

I'm happy to tell you that our Guest Designer this week is Lisette ... aka Mrs Beez ... Lisette won challenge week 159 with her lovely creation ... Please hop over to the blog and say hello and take a look at the cards from the rest of the DT.
If you'd like a chance to Guest Design with us ... just join in our challenge ...
We were overwhelmed by the entries last week ... There were so many beautiful cards it makes it really hard for us to pick winners ...

Have a beautiful day and I'll be back tomorrow

Till soon

Hello!

How are you?
I'm back from beautiful Lincoln where I had a lovely relaxing time with my Aunt who is doing so well ... I did miss my supplies though ... especially as I had some new papers arrive just before I left ...

Today we were out celebrating a special someone's upcoming 4th Birthday

Yes my great niece Sophia is growing up ... and it just wouldn't have been the same without her cousin Ross ... These two adore each other

... And yes I had to join them in their little circus tent! All I can say is thank goodness I did Pilates for years ...

I managed to get a DT project done yesterday and using the scraps I am just about scrapping in with a card for the challenge at CASology ... which is simply "Yellow"

Pink Petticoat have a new range of (digital) ombre papers as seen on my card ... I really love them

So a very quick and simple CAS card using Pink Petticoat papers and PTI dies

... together with a Kaisercraft stamp ...

I hope you are having a lovely Sunday and a Happy Father's Day!

Till soon

T'was the pink that got me ... that and a whole bunch of scraps left over from Thursday club projects ...
This is a little matchbook card

The papers are all digital scraps and the image is too

... "with love" fabric tape by Papermania

What does the photo say to you? I'm looking forward to seeing your interpretation ... The DT have some more inspiration for you on the blog ... stop by and take a look ...

City Crafter "All About Him"

Hello ...
My posts this week are scheduled as I am away and according to my Aunt with whom I will be staying ... We have a full week!

At City Crafter today Our lovely Kirsty is hosting for us and the challenge she has set this week is
"All About Him"

The challenge is to create a Father's Day card or a Masculine card

Our Guest Designer this week is the Uber talented Jinny Newlin  who also happens to be one of the sweetest bloggers too ... Please take a moment to go visit her blog and be awed by her talent and her cute children

I came up with a bright beach themed card this week

Some MME paper with an image I had in my stash to which I added some eyelets and rope for a little interest ... the silhouette stamp is from a freebie set that came with a magazine

The banners were made by stamping with my blenders onto white CS in different inks and then I sponged around the card too

I looking forward to seeing what you all come up with ... Masculine cards can be a challenge at the best of times!
Don't forget to take a look at the rest of the DT projects too ...

Have a beautiful Day

Happy Mail and Photo Heavy

Hello there ...
I'm getting organised for my trip tomorrow but I just had to pop in and say a HUGE thank you to 2 sweet blog friends who sent me happy mail ...

My friend Sylvia sent me a beautiful handmade card and some sweet angel scraps ... (that's what we call them over here)

I'm old enough to remember 'scrap books' when you filled an ordinary book with things like the above and did swaps with your friends ... (Do any of you know what I'm talking about?)
Isn't that card just beautiful!! Sylvia is one talented lady!

As you may know some of her family live in Oklahoma and you can imagine, she has been very concerned ... so to know with all that going on in her life ... she thought of me ... well I am humbled ... Thank you my friend

Now the talented Linda B. (Hands to Work Hearts to Love makes the most exquisite albums and cards and we decided to help each other out ... I couldn't get the bags needed for the albums and Linda couldn't get the transparencies ... hence we did a swap ...
Well, her package to me just arrived and rendered me speechless ... Not only did she send me the bags ... but a gorgeous card ... AND ... one of her amazingly beautiful albums!!

I know this album has been posted on her blog  (do hop over and check out her work) ... but given just how much detail and just how stunning it is ... I am going to show it again

... And the card

Even my husband was rendered speechless!
Thank you so much Linda ...

I am truly blessed to have such wonderful, thoughtful friends ...
And thank you all for letting me share this with you ...

~ Ros ~
