Congratulations William and Kate ...

Hi there ...
Just popping in to wish the Happy Couple a long and happy life together ...
I had a wonderful day watching the wedding ... everything just seemed to go so perfectly
I loved the parades and seeing all the people happy in the sunshine cheering ... Did you know that the Police were even taking cameras from those in the crowd who wanted pictures  ... photographing Royalty and guests and handing the cameras back to the people ... How good is that?
Of course I shed tears ... both at the joy of it all and because I felt so proud of my country ...
There were street parties all around the British Isles and it was a truly memorable day ...

Just in case you didn't see the evening attire ... here you go ...

Have a wonderful weekend ...

Waltzing Mouse ..

Hi sweet friends ...
I hope you are all ok ... I have heard reports of storms in Alabama so my thoughts are with my blog friends out there ... and everyone who may have been affected ...

I am just popping in with a quick little card for this weeks' challenge at WaltzingMouse based on this sketch ...
I've been blog hopping to see previews of WaltzingMouse's new upcoming stamps ... ooh! they look lovely ...  I find all their stamps are so versatile ...
so ... this is my card

WaltzingMouse stamps from the Victorian Frippery set ... I love how they fit perfectly with SB dies ...
a few handmade flowers, ribbon, twine, lace and beads and some embossing using the swiss dots folder ... for some reason I always come back to this even though a have quite a few folders ... Do you have a favourite?

I have an appointment with the doctor this afternoon so need to get on ... have a lovely day

Till soon

A Challenge & Happy Mail ...

Hello there ...
How are you all? ... I hope the sun is shining down in your neck of the woods ... it is here ... though the temperature is expected to drop down to almost freezing by tonight ... crazy weather ...
I've had a good day ... been for coffee with my friend this morning and an afternoon of creativity ...
First I have a card and tag which I made for this weeks' colour challenge at CR84FN  based on this pretty picture ...

... and another beautiful, philisophical quote ...
I love this colour combination ... so vibrant and yet I didn't think I was going to be able to put something together ... so I left it a few days and then came up with this

The background paper is an image from the Graphic Fairy which I enlarged ... my red paper is Core'dinations which I stamped on ... the pretty poppy is from Websters Pages Spring Market

... a tiny piece of scrap doily, ribbon and sparkly button from my stash ...
I liked this combination so much that I made a tag to go with it too

My Websters Pages are from the digital collection which gives me the freedom to alter the size of things so that my Poppy is obviously a little smaller on this tag than on the card ...
You can see I had a wee bit of trouble with my sewing machine ... but I think it adds to the tag

Next I want to share some Happy Mail from the ever so kind Amy aka Papertrails Leaver ... you may remember that she won my giveaway and take a look at what arrived today ...

a closer look at the beautiful card ...

"Thank You so much Amy"
I LOVE everything ... the lace ... pins ...  tickets ... everything! ... So very kind of you

Have yourselves a lovely day / evening and I'll be back with you soon

Mother may I ...

Hello and good morning to you ...
Today Cheryl is hosting for us at City Crafter Challenge and has asked that we create a card / project which includes the word Mother or similar (Mom, Mum, Madre etc.,) ... as you know we have already had Mother's Day here in the UK but lots of you will be making your cards and gifts in preparation for your Mother's Day ... so it's a great challenge ...
I chose to make a wall hanging ... using one of my all time favourite photos of my Mum with her first born son ... I never knew my big brother ... he died at 7 months ...

I think my Mum looks so pretty in this photo ... reminds me of a film star ... hence I chose to use  Websters Pages Hollywood Vogue paper ...

I used ply board for my base which I painted it first,  then added the paper ... adhered some lace to the bottom and sewed on some little crystals ... all the embellishments are from my stash ... the little pin is a handmade gift from sweet Stella  I used a small scrap of Tim Holtz paper to mount my photo too.

Now it's over to you ... please come and join us this week ... if you are looking for more inspiration ... please hop over to the blog  ... see you there!

Have a wonderful day ...

Bunny ...

Good morning friends ...
I have a couple of things to share ... first of all my card for this weeks challenge at Jingle Belles Rock and it's week 17 ...
where does the time go?
This week the challenge is all about recycling / upcycling ... not that I really know the difference ... but I do like to re-use whenever I can ... I keep the tiniest and strangest things ... Anyway back to the challenge which is very aptly named Happy Earth Day ... so here is my Earth Day card

My background paper and sentiment is Echo Park ... which I had left over from the gorgeous December kit from Pixie Dust Paperie ... the ' Carte Postale' with the embossed snowflakes is from an old shop bought card ...
The heart and wavy border are both cut from cardboard packaging ... and glittered up a little ... I left the border smooth and 'peeled' the heart ... cardboard cuts brilliantly with the Sizzix

The greenery on the heart is a bit of tinsel from an old decoration and one of my berry stems
the ribbon and little mulberry paper trees are from my stash ...
So I did recycle / upcycle quite a bit here ... and I plan to use a lot more of that Cardboard to make some gift tags with ...

Now I would like you to meet bunny ...

Isn't she just the cutest? got to show you some more pics of her

She ... is called Yvette ... why? ... well my Mum was called Yvette (her father was french) and as a small child she was nicknamed Bunny ... something to do with a cute little angora hat she wore that her Mother knitted for her ... so my Mum is spending Easter with us after all ...

Have a good one!

Sweet Baby Card ...

Hello sweet blog friends ...
I know I've been absent for a while ... just things to do and a few hospital appointments to see to ... and I have at least been keeping up with visiting your blogs and seeing your beautiful creations ... I couldn't go a day without doing so ...
I just had some time to make a card for two challenges ... first up
CR84FN24 ... with this beautiful colour palette

... and such an inspiring quote ...

and also WatzingMouse Sketch Challenge ... which I flipped

It's a beautiful day here again and I have been all over the place trying to take a decent photo of my card .. this is the best I could do ...
Here's my card ...

I printed my CS cream and used pale blue paper from Prima's Jack and Jill together with some Tim Holtz paper ... that sweet baby image is from Printable Heaven

The flower is also Prima and the leaves I punched out ... scrunched seam binding from Bluebird Lane at Etsy ... the little button was a clear button which I altered using a little text paper and some glossy accents ...

Have you any plans for Easter? ... I am just taking things as they come ... When my Mum was alive she always came and celebrated Easter and Christmas holidays with me ... and yes ... we saw each other practically every day .... somehow it's never the same ... but I have wonderful memories ... and many of my son with all his Easter Eggs ... Lol!
I am thankfully for all I have ... my Husband and my Son here with me ... my family and my friends ... and my thoughts are with those less fortunate
Whatever you have planned ... I wish you all a blessed Easter ... may love and peace be with you

Till soon

City Crafter Challenge

Good Morning everyone ... are you well? ... I hope so ...
It's Tuesday again and time for another new challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog Thank you to everyone who celebrated our First Birthday last week ... we really appreciate your support and the winners will all be announced soon ...
This weeks' challenge is brought to us by Linda ... My Happy Place ... who has just become a Grandma to the beautiful baby Miles ... Congratulations Linda! Please pop over to her blog to see pictures of Miles and leave her some love ...
Linda's challenge for us this week is to create a Gate Fold card ... It's been ages since I did one of these and if you are a little unsure about doing them ... there are some wonderful tutorials on the web ...
I chose to use some digital papers from Websters Pages (Lullaby Lane)

and the beautiful butterfly sitting on the rosette is a sticker from the Lullaby Lane sticker collection available at Pixie Dust Paperie ...

the only other things I added was some lace a couple of rhinestones and some stitching

A peek inside shows the same papers ... just ready for you to write or stamp your own sentiment

I apologise that some of the pictures are a little dark or shaded ... whilst I love the sunshine ... it can make it difficult to get some decent shots ...
So now it's over to you ... I am so looking forward to seeing what you talented people can come up with ... every week you turn out amazing creations for the team to admire and drool over ... can't wait to see this weeks' entries ...
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments

Jingle Belles Snowman

Hi there ...
The sun is shining gloriously here and it seems strange to be posting a Christmas card ... but I am doing my best to keep up with Jingle Belles challenge ... and this week they are having a 'cross over' with Betty Bees Buzz  which means that you can link your card up to both blogs ... Lovely Lauren from Jingle Belles is guesting for Betty Bees Buzz ... whilst the very talented June Houck is guesting for Jingle Belles ... (I think I got it right) ...  The challenge this week is to use Die Cuts ... bought, made ... anything goes as long as you use a die cut ...
So this week I got to use one of my Snowman pieces ...

He's one happy snowman don't you think?

I used my Sizzix and a SB die to cut the white label background for Mr. Snowman ... embossed it with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and used blue glitter Stickles on the label and on Mr. Snowman's braces ... I also die cut the snowflake from felt and added more glitter ... the background paper is of course MME glitter paper ... I know ... I'm obsessed!

some little flowers from a Christmas decoration finished it off ... I used the Stickles for the centre of the flowers too ... So there we are card 16 all done and dusted (in glitter.. ha ha) ...
I should mention too that the DT and GD June Houck have once again made fantastic samples for us this week ... hop over and take a look ...

Before I go ... did you notice my little cat on the side bar? ...  remember a good while ago I was cat sitting for my dear friend whilst she was in hospital? Well this kitty looks just like her cat Chucky ... my friend now needs some strong medical treatment and so cyber Chucky and I will be wishing her well everyday and sending love ... The great thing is that this cat actually purrs when you touch her with your cursor and she will also follow your cursor ... try it and see ... ah ... Love it!

Till soon ... have a wonderful day

Miss you ...

Hello sweet blog friends ... I hope you are enjoying your weekend ... My hubby can now drive again and today he took my friend and I to Salford Quays for some retail therapy ... what a lovely day we had ... and maybe because it has been a good day I was able to come home and make a little card for a new challenge ( new to me that is ... ) over at Jay Gee's Nook ...
I was so inspired by the work of the DT and also by this beautiful picture

... that I knew exactly what I wanted to do ... and that's unusual for me ...
I usually just go where my hands take me ... I think it may have been the bicycle ... and the gorgeous bluish ... turquoise colour ... anyway this is my card ...

a mix here of digital text paper from Jen Allyson (Antique prints)  and some of my gorgeous Tim Holtz paper ...
The bicycle ... or rather tricycle ... is a digital stamp from Stacey Marks (Birds blooms and bicycles) ...

The sentiment is computer generated ... I don't know why 'Miss you' ... it just seemed to fit ...

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ...

Till soon

The Beautiful Colours of Spring

Good morning sweet friends ...
I have a card to share which I made for two challenges ....

This challenge is hosted by Australian 'Colouring Queen ... Kathy Jones  and I have to say her colouring with copics is just amazing ... I don't even own a copic ... sadly ... but I prefer to leave that to the experts ... of which I definitely am not!

The second challenge is Card Patterns  ... this being the sketch

... and once again the DT have out done themselves ... they are such a hard act to follow!
So on to my card ... using papers from Websters Pages (Lullaby Lane)

I love the fresh green colours of spring ... and the creamy colour of the blossom on the hawthorn trees which always seem to be the first to bloom and bring a beautiful fragrance with them ...
so my card is based on them ...

There are so many things on our beautiful earth that have shades of green ... someone once told me that God created so much green because it is a peaceful calming colour ... I won't argue with that ...

Till soon

Happy Birthday CCCB and Blog Hop

Hello and good morning to you all ...
Today we at City Crafter Challenge  are celebrating our first birthday ... and you are all invited to join in with us ...  There are 6 prizes on offer this week ...  The DT and our Guest Designer will each be giving away a $10 gift certificate for Pixie Dust Paperie  in a blog hop!
All you have to do is follow the list leaving a comment on each of our posts starting at CCCB and then hop over to the next blog in the list and leave a comment there ... each of us will pick a lucky winner from our list of comments ...
Plus there will also be a prize for the winner of this weeks' challenge at City Crafter Challenge ...

Our guest designer this week is the very talented Sylvia Nelson aka Sylvia's Stamping Corner ... who made this lovely card for our birthday

and the challenge is to CASE this card  ... you can pick out the colours ... the shape or the embellishments to make your card or project ... but it must be a Happy Birthday theme ...
This is my take ...

As we are often taken to different cities by our creator Kirsty ... I just had to stamp some of those cities onto my background paper ... and though my 'cake' hides some of them, there are London, Paris, Rome
and New York ...

I added lots of lace, glitter and flowers to my cake which I cut out of CS and covered with MF paper and even added a real candle ... the cake was adhered with foam pads to give it some definition ...

Now here is the list for you to follow ... don't forget to visit each blog and leave a comment for your chance to win

                  Ros ... (that's me)

I really hope you will celebrate with us this week ... We really appreciate each and every one of you who has played along with us this last year ... I have had a wonderful time being on the DT ... many thanks to Kirsty and also to Linda and Cheryl ... they are all just the nicest, sweetest people to work with

Have a wonderful day ... see you at the party!

CR84FN23

Hello ... are you well?
I managed to get a little time to do a card for this weeks challenge at CR84FN ... (in between the usual household chores ... administering eye drops 4 hourly and taking my husband out so he doesn't get bored) ...  Such pretty colours again this week and once again the inspirational picture and quote are beautiful ...

See what I mean ... how could I resist this colour palette?
So here we are my card

The black and cream papers are all from SU "Love Letter" (how I adore these papers) and I think the pink and cream text paper are K & Co ... the pink heart on there is done using the masking technique ...
I used my Sizzix to cut out a heart template, placed it over my DP and using a sponge ... filled it in with petal pink ink by Versa colour ... I am pleased with the effect ...

Ribbon, flowers, pearl and crochet flowers are all from my stash ...
I know I rarely use a sentiment on my cards ... that's only because I can personalise them when I need to ... I have a whole box of my cards and when birthdays, anniversaries etc., come around .. I can just dip in add a sentiment then ...
Enjoy your day/evening and I'll be back tomorrow ...
Keep safe

~ Ros ~

Jingle Belles Card 15

Hello friends ...
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend ... we have been so fortunate to have warm sunshine for a few days ... it's not set to last but it seems everyone is making the most of it ... My Husband had his 2nd cataract surgery yesterday ... (I'm playing nurse again ... 4 hourly drops) ... and as he hates to be confined to home, I took him out for some lunch and a meander around a few shops ... then back to watch his beloved football team on TV ... That gave me time to make my card for this week's challenge over at Jingle Belles Rock ... This week we have a recipe prompt courtesy of Clare from Miscanthus Crafts ... the ingredients being ...

1. As white as a ghost

2. A present

3. A bow or knot

4. A touch of traditional colours

I was quite in my comfort zone with this one as I love to use white especially at Christmas ... with lots of glitter too ... so here is my 15th card ...

I used wide lace so my red dot paper was just able to peek through ... the lace is stick on which saves a whole lot of  fiddling ... my frame was a plain piece of chipboard that I painted and glittered and added some silver trim to

I must say that I really find white and glitter very hard to photograph ... I think it took me less time to make the card than photograph it! ... maybe I need to invest in one of those light tents ...

Why don't you hop on over to Jingle Belles and see the DT cards too ... it's never too late to join in and make a start on your Christmas cards
... Wishing you all a lovely weekend ...

Till soon

Waltzing Mouse ..

Hi there!
I hope you are well ... I've not had a lot of time for crafting lately ... just stuff going on ... but I managed to get something done for this weeks' challenge over at WaltzingMouse ... (just) ... The sketch this week calls for little cards ...

and the DT have done some fantastic work ...
So here is my take ... my 3 little cards ...

I don't know where the background paper is from ... but the dottie strips are SU "Love Letter" and the stamps are both WM "Victorian Frippery" ... I love how the circular stamp frames my flowers ...

Tulle, flowers and buttons are all from my stash ...
I'm sorry if my photos aren't too good ... I seem to be having some problems with my camera ... or maybe it's my eyes!!
That's all for now ... have yourselves a lovely day/evening

Till soon
